Three civil society organisations have taken Mali to the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, accusing the state of failing to protect civilians during deadly operations in 2022.
The complaint, filed by TRIAL International, the Pan African Lawyers Union and the International Federation for Human Rights, centres on alleged abuses involving Malian forces and fighters linked to the Wagner Group, now said to be operating under Africa Corps.
